Our Story:
Hi, my name is Roberto Rivera and I started GreenerStep to reduce the amount of plastic we throw away. Although my background is not in product design I am a problem solver. In 2010, I watched a documentary on the Great Pacific garbage patch and I was stunned. I started to think about how to slow down our use of plastic through better and more sustainable product design. Given the properties of plastic, a material that can take up to 500 years to biodegrade, I realized that part of the solution had to focus on REUSABILITY. So I founded GreenerStep to develop every day products that reduce unnecessary plastic waste by simply changing, replacing or refilling the parts that matter.

The birth of Snap
The ordinary toothbrush is the ultimate throwaway item, often used for a few short months and then discarded. I questioned why do we throw away the entire toothbrush when only the brush head wears out. It does not make sense right? So I decided to to partner with leading dental professional to create the Snap Toothbrush System.
In 2012, we launched Snap Toothbrushes through our website and got our first major retail partner on board - Wholefoods New England. Since then, we have been able to grow and share our passion with people who are willing to make small changes today for the benefit of future generations.
So now I have a question for you. What product should we re-design next?
